چکیده

به طور کلی ژئوئید به عنوان یک سطح مبنا، در علومی که به هر نحو با اندازه ­گیری کمیت های وابسته به فیزیک و هندسه زمین در ارتباط می­ باشند، از اهمیت خاصی برخوردار است. به خصوص در علم بنیادی ژئودزی، این سطح فرضی پایه و اساس و همچنین ابزار مفیدی برای برآورد بسیاری از کمیت های مورد نیاز علم ژئودزی و علوم وابسته به آن است.
با توجه به اهمیت این سطح خاص و لزوم درک مفهوم آن، به نظر می­ رسد مقاله زیر می­ تواند تا حد قابل توجهی مفید واقع شود. لازم به ذکر است، این مقاله برداشتی است از رساله دکترای یکی از فارغ­ التحصیلان رشته ژئودزی دانشگاه نیوبرانسویک کانادا، که به راهنمایی استاد ممتاز ژئودزی آقای پروفسور «ونیچک» تهیه شده است، امید است مورد استفاده متخصصان، کارشناسان، دانشجویان و علاقه­ مندان ذیربط قرار گیرد.

In general, geoid is of particular importance in sciences that are in any way related to measurement of quantities related to physics and geometry of the Earth. Especially in the basic science of geodesy, this hypothetical level is the foundation and also a useful tool for estimating many of the
quantities required by geodesy and sciences related to it.
Considering the importance of this particular level and the need to understand its concept, it seems that the following paper can be considerably useful. It must be mentioned that this paper is based on the doctoral thesis of a graduate student at the University of New Brunswick, Canada, supervised by Professor Vanicek, a distinguished professor of geodesy, hoping to be used by experts, students and enthusiasts in the field.
