چکیده
اگرچه جهان ما و اشیای در آن همگی سه بعدی (3D) هستند، مع الوصف GIS تجاری معمولاً داده های فضایی (مکانی) را به خاطر داده های گوناگون به دو بعدی 2D کاهش می دهد چنانچه تمامی طیف و گسترده کاربردی معلوم از 2DGIS در یک 3DGIS در دسترس قرار بگیرد. ساختارهای اطلاعاتی توپولوژیکی و هندسی مناسب ضرورت پیدا می کند.
نگارنده این مقاله مشکلات کنونی دستیابی 3DGIS را مورد بررسی قرار می دهد و پاسخ هایی را ارائه می کنند که از تلاش های تحقیقاتی اش نتیجه گرفته است.

Although our universe and all objects in it are three-dimensional (3D), nonetheless commercial GIS usually reduces spatial data (spatial data) to two-dimensional (2D) due to different data considerations. If the entire range of the known applications of 2D GIS is to become available in a 3D GIS, certain appropriate topological and geometric information structures become necessary.
The author of this article reviews the current problems of access to 3D GIS and provides answers that result from his research efforts.
